WARNING – Always unload all magazines, do a safety check, and remove all live ammunition from the area before disassembling your Mongoose to reduce the chance of negligent discharge.

WARNING – Always wear safety glasses when disassembling your firearm to protect your eyes from components that are under pressure which may be projected towards you.

Refer to the Mongoose parts terminology as needed.

1. Remove the front compensator cap (either flat plate or compensator option) by depressing the cap arms and pulling away from the barrel, or you can slowly use the bolt to push the cap off while depressing the cap arms.  It’s also possible to just pull hard, however this could damage the cap arms over time.

2. Rotate the takedown lever clockwise.

3. Push the takedown lever and pin from the other side until the pin stops at its extended position.

4. Keep a firm grip on the charging handle to maintain control. Pull rearward on the charging handle allowing the bolt catch to drop, then slowly allow the bolt to go forward pushing it all the way forward to a locked position.

5. Remove the charging handle latch assembly by pulling outward.

6. Allow the operating system (barrel, bolt, charging handle carrier) to slide forward and remove from the upper receiver.

7. Separate the barrel from the bolt by pivoting down pushing slightly forward.

8. Depress the front and rear takedown pins from the left side of the firearm to separate the upper and lower receiver.

9. Turn the receiver set to the right side of the firearm, and pull both pins out, holding onto both the upper and lower receiver to ensure that they don’t drop unexpectedly.

WARNING – Never disassemble your Mongoose further than what is necessary to clean it. Further disassembly will void your warranty unless performed by a NEMO approved armorer.
