1. Eligibility Check:

   - Ensure you meet all federal, state, and local requirements. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a suppressor for a rifle or shotgun, and 21 years old for a suppressor designed for a handgun.

2. Choose a Federal Firearms License (FFL) Holder who also holds a sot (special occupational tax) license:

   - Locate a ffl/sot holder, such as a gun store or dealer, who is authorized to handle NFA items. They will facilitate the transfer process.

3. Select a Suppressor:

   - Research and choose the suppressor you want to purchase. Make sure it's compatible with your firearms and meets your specific needs. If you need help during this process call our sales department at 208-461-1213 opt 1

4. Payment:

   - Pay for the suppressor and any associated fees. 

5. Fill out ATF Forms:

   - You will need to complete the following forms:

      - ATF Form 4 - Application for Tax Paid Transfer and Registration of Firearm: This is the main application form for purchasing an NFA item.

- Fingerprint Cards and Passport Photos: You'll need to submit two sets of fingerprint cards and two passport-sized photos along with your application.

6. Get Passport Photos and Fingerprints:

   - Obtain two passport-sized photos and have your fingerprints taken. Many local law enforcement agencies provide this service, or you can use a private fingerprinting service. 

7. Submit Forms:

   - there are multiple ways to submit the ATF form 4, electronic via e-forms, 3rd party kiosk or via USPS. In some cases, you will need to mail photos, and fingerprint cards, along with a check or money order for the $200 tax stamp to the ATF. It is recommended to send the forms via certified mail, if utilizing USPS, with return receipt requested.

8. Wait for Approval:

   - The processing time can vary but generally takes several months. You can check the status of your application by calling the ATF's NFA Branch.

9. Receive Approval:

    - Once your application is approved, the ATF will send the approved Form 4 back to the FFL holder.

10. Pick Up Your Suppressor:

    - Once the FFL holder receives the approved Form 4, you can go to the store and complete the transfer. In some cases You'll need to complete a background check as well.

11. Complete Transfer:

    - Fill out the ATF 4473 paperwork required by your FFL dealer and pay any remaining fees.

12. Take Possession:

    - After completing all necessary paperwork and checks, you can take possession of your suppressor.
