We recommend using this 10-shot break in process:

  1. Shoot one shot then clean
  2. Shoot one shot then clean
  3. Shoot one shot then clean
  4. Shoot one shot then clean
  5. Shoot two shots then clean
  6. Shoot two shots then clean
  7. Shoot two shots then clean

In this process we define “clean” as wetting a patch with BoreTech cu+2 copper remover and running it through the bore with a cleaning rod and jag.  We recommend their proof positive jags and cleaning rods. The patch will come out of the muzzle end with blue coloring on it. Repeat this process for 10 patches, then wet a nylon brush with the copper remover and run the nylon brush all the way through the barrel and back 20 times.  Follow this by pushing more saturated patches (one at a time) through the bore until the patches come out the muzzle end with very little blue coloring on them. (This may take up to another 10-20 patches.) Then remove any remaining solvent from the bore with several dry patches after cleaning up any solvent that may have settled in the muzzle device or barrel extension.
